Whistler South African Rum goes well with Van Coke
Whistler rum is all about "Whistling your own tune". There are few artists in South Africa who lives this motto more than Francois van Coke. No backtracks will feature on this show as his entire entourage in the form of "Die Gevaar" will be performing at this, the first of many, music events at Whistler Rum.
Van Coke and "Die Gevaar"
FRANCOIS VAN COKE rose to fame as the iconic front man of legendary South African rock bands Fokofpolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel. On the 8th of April 2015, Francois launched his self-titled debut solo album and kicked his solo career into gear with the release of the most poignant ballad of that year - Toe Vind Ek Jou featuring Karen Zoid.
What will Van Coke be doing in 2021?
Francois releases the conversation series 40 Jaar Van Coke – Annie Klopper in conversation with Francois van Coke. In this podcast/videocast/documentary, he divulges the most he has ever done about his life and career. In ten intimate and revealing conversations he tells Annie Klopper the kind of stories he only tells his close friends; stories so wild that they never made it to mainstream media. 2021 will see Francois getting in the ring with retired Springbok rugby player, Derick Hougaard, for a BOXOP boxing match at the end of May at Sun Arena. This livestreamed fight will be broadcast at Nu Metro theatres as well.
Naturally, the big event for him is the Rum and Van Coke (En "Die Gevaar") show at the Whistler Rum distillery on 10 July!
