Whistler South African Style rum - book the distillery venue


Whistler Rum distillery venue is now open longer and more often!

After the year you had, you deserve more. More delicious food. More excuses to enjoy decent rum. More unique and interesting events to attend.

For this reason, we have extended our menu and trading hours and have updated our events and venue hiring options.

By popular demand we have increased our food offering at the distillery. Thank to suggestions from the community, our new, extended menu now offers offal pie, skaapstertjies, Wagyu burgers, sliders and wraps and delectable fresh salads – to name just a few. For our full menu, keep an eye on our Facebook page. We are in the process of building a pizza oven, so we will be introducing a unique pizza menu very soon.

Thanks to our new events manager, Marike, we are also offering bespoke function packages at the distillery, with a venue capacity for 150 guests.

Our function experiences are tailor-made to your budget, number of guests, taste, and other requirements – from year-end functions to birthday parties and the works.

One exciting event we are planning is a chocolate making event, using rum in the making of the chocolate. We are even using said chocolate for a facial, as well as using the chocolate for a rum pairing.

We have also taken our public events offering to another level. Case in point, our Dias de los Muertos party planned for 31 October (Halloween) from 11:00 – 23:00 at the distillery. The theme for this event, undoubtedly a first for the Free State, is Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead). The Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated in Mexico and elsewhere associated with the Catholic celebrations of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, commonly portrayed as a day of celebration.

On the day, you can expect Mexican food, South African craft tequila, music, kids’ entertainment, best-dressed prizes. Pop in and see what else.
